Fathers day is fast approaching. This often means an awesome gift for dear ol' dad.  So the question is what do you get him? This can be tough a question to answer for some people. But here's the good news, if your father is an avid outdoorsman or just enjoys an outdoor hobby like fishing, hunting, or camping then there is no shortage of gift ideas. Another good thing about this lifestyle is you can never have too many of something. It seems ridiculous to own two iPhone's, but owning two of the same knife, gun, or fishing pole is totally normal.

We've compiled a list of 10 Awesome Fathers Day Gift ideas that any outdoorsman dad would love to get. If you've got a dad who loves to hunt, fish, camp, or even hike, then you're in the right place.

This is an excellent ammo bag that holds a fair amount of ammo and other essential items you need when hunting. On top of being a great ammo bag, it is also a great scouting or fishing bag. The Rothco canvas bag fits perfectly into any pack and holds a decent amount of items.

If your father is more of a bushcraft and survival guy, the Light My Fire fire steel is an awesome gift. The fire steel is name brand and throws a generous amount of sparks. This fire steel will be at home in any pack or survival kit.

This is a must-have for anyone who spends time in the great outdoors. It filters down to .01 microns. It will filter out bacteria and viruses (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium), but will not filter out heavy metals. I personally use this filter all the time. The best part is that the filter screws directly onto any standard 20oz soda or water bottle. It has come in handy so many times that I made a permanent home in my pack for it.

A fantastic stove that fits into a cup. This allows you to save room in your pack by consolidating your stove and cup into one area. It's a terrific little setup for anyone who camps, hikes, or hunts. Esbit is name brand and makes an excellent line of products.

While this call kit is not top of the line, it is perfect for beginners thinking about getting into turkey hunting or as a spare set to keep in the truck. If your father is thinking about turkey hunting or often takes friends turkey hunting, this could be the perfect gift.

The Leatherman Wingman is a great EDC (Every Day Carry) item. I personally carry this multitool on my hip every day and it sees uses daily. The only thing I didn't like about the Wingman was it didn't come with a belt sheath, although it does include a pocket clip. Other than that it's a great choice for handymen and outdoorsmen alike.

The Buck 110 encompasses everything about the outdoors. It is the classic outdoorsman knife and its creation set the precedent for future folding knives. This knife is great for many of the tasks required by the outdoors. It is awesome for cleaning fish and game. It cuts through green wood like butter. Making tent stakes is super easy if you forgot yours. Definitely a knife worth adding to any collection.

Parachute hammocks are lightweight, easily packable, and gets you up off that cold, wet, ground. String up a tarp and you have a shelter you can set up anywhere. A great gift for any camper or hiker in your life.

A fishing reel is a great fathers day gift, and Daiwa makes awesome rods and reels. Best of all this reel won't break the bank. It's an awesome spinning reel that'll make catching that big trout a breeze. Why not give dad the gift of a great fishing trip this Fathers Day?

Ugly stik is a great brand of fishing rod that doesn't get too pricey as compared to some fishing rods. The GX2 is perfectly capable of holding its own against other name brand rods. The spinning reel this combo set comes with is decent but if you can afford it try pairing it with the Daiwa Crossfire for an even better pole setup.

As you can see there is no shortage of fantastic gift ideas for the outdoorsman or sportsman in your life. If you're a dad send this list to your family and have them get you something awesome this fathers day.

All of my life has been focused on the outdoors. From the days of fishing with my father when I was young, to learning more advanced outdoor skills through the Boy Scouts of America; you could say the outdoors is pretty much my life blood. I enjoy a wide range of activities including camping, survival, fishing, hunting, and bushcraft. I have spent most of my life learning these skills and now I want to pass on my knowledge and hopefully learn even more in return.
